On the twelfth day of Christmas my culture gave to me
Twelve groups spied on,
eleven priests a pimping,
ten Conservative idiots,
nine anonymous secrets,
eight days-a-waiting
seven released inmates,
six amemdments ruined,
five golden lies;
four black gay men,
three more years,
two gay cowboys,
and a cracked up diva named Whitney.
have a happy, merry (insert euphemism for the holiday)!

Keep Posting!!
very interesting blog! I'll be back
happy holidays to you as well!
just read the "hollywood's coming out" review. i have no idea what "existentially gay" means.
i saw brokeback. it has two plots: it's a love story and, more than that, a survival story.
the love story is beautiful -- what two lovers will endure to keep their love alive over decades.
and it would deny that the movie is a survival story to suggest that the film does not concern the gay experience. of course it does. it would be like suggesting that my beautiful life or the pianist do not concern the holocaust experience. of course they do.
the way this survival story is told is through a cathartic glimpse into the lives of two gay cowboys in rural wyoming. brokeback is essentially a gay film & any degradation of this theme would deny the audience the opportunity to empathize and fully appreciate the nuances of survival.
